Shall We Pray?
Father, may we not be wells without water.
Let us not just be about words; bogus words, otiose words, lifeless words, swelling words of vanity, words that only instigate the lusts of the flesh. As we draw life, let us also give life. Keep our hearts and devotion stayed on you. May we not preach or promise liberty when we are still slaves to corruption. Let our authenticity and honesty shine through. Where we fall, let us not indulge a false sense of value, of pride, when we should be seeking repentance and restoration. Let our eyes be full of light, not adultery; with a heart exercised in godliness not covetous practices. May we not be that tribe that cannot cease from sinning but never cease from talking about what the saviour has done. May we not only be excited about forgiveness of sin, let us be the shining lights of those delivered from it.
May we not act as dogs, Lord. For we are not one.
We do not return to our vomits, neither do we cast our pearls among swine. We are sanctified. We are blessed. We are delivered. We are peaceable. We are holy. We are blameless. We are in Christ. May we reflect you, in words, in conducts, in character, in deeds; indeed. For the mist of darkness is not reserved for us. We are children of lights. We are lights in the Lord. We walk as children of lights. We live full-proof of the fruit of the Spirit in all goodness and righteousness and truth. By grace, we have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness, but rather we reprove them. We arise from our plains of deadness, we make manifest your Light, O Lord. We walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. The glory of God is risen upon us in the face of Christ. We march into the chaos of our world with full confidence in Jesus. For the prince of this world came, and he had nothing in us. For as you are, so are we in this world.
As we begin a new month, we renounce every hidden things of dishonesty. We will not walk in craftiness. We will not handle the word of God deceitfully. We will commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God by simply manifesting the truth. It will be a month, not just for personal learning and clarity but also, of purging. For our new phase begins now.
May our starry clouds never become a hail of sawdust.
In Jesus’ name….
